What is the ideal thickness of the EPS container to be used for end packing perishables using gel Icepacks?

1 inch to 2 inch depending on the transit time, product requirements, quantity of the gel-icepacks etc.

What type of ink should be used for printing on gel Icepacks?

CHILLIT Gel-Icepacks uses special Deep Freezer Inks & Medium, which can withstand very low temperatures. This guarantees there is no peeling of the print image ink even after repeated freezing and thawing.

What is the composition of the gel used in gel Icepacks?

The Gel used in CHILLIT Gel-Icepacks is prepared from the salt of cross-linked polymers of partially neutralized acrylic acid (the counter ion being sodium). In its dry form, it is a powder of crystalline structure. Upon swelling with water, it yields a gel-like suspension. The polymer is mainly insoluble in water. Residual monomer and residual cross linker content are low.

How leak-proof are gel Icepacks? (sealing)

CHILLIT Gel Icepacks are sealed using special pneumatic sealing technology with 2 x 3 mm parallel double sealing which give one of the strongest seals possible.

What is the optimal freezing time / temperature for the gel Icepacks?

This depend on the temperature inside your deep freezer. The temperature inside a commercial deep freezer can vary between Zero to - 20 Deg. C. Under normal conditions with the temperature inside the deep freezer at around - 15 Deg. C the freezing time would be around 10 to 12 hours.

How can I ensure that my vaccines remain active during transit or how can I monitor the temperature during transit ?

You can use data loggers inside your EPS container, which tells you whether your product has been exposed to temperatures above or below the specified or desired temperature range of your product.

In case of leakage, what is the right method of disposal of the ice packs?

Material is non toxic and can be disposed of in land fill. Discard as solid waste

What is the right way to stack gel Icepacks during freezing?

The gel Icepacks should be placed flat inside the deep freezer, taking special care not to deform the Pillow shape. Care should also be taken when stacking so that the Gel Icepacks do not slip and fall which may also deform the Pillow shape.

What type of plastic is used to make gel ice Icepacks?

The polyethylene bags are manufactured using only Food Grade LDPE which meet the requirement stipulated in STANDARD IS-10146-82, on "Specification for polyethylene for its safe use in contact with food stuffs, pharmaceuticals and drinking water", and also conforms to the positive list of constituents as prescribed in IS-1-141-1982

Are gel Icepacks Non-toxic?

Yes, the gel used in CHILLIT Gel Icepacks is Non-Toxic. However the same should not be used in drinks or eaten.The polyethylene bags are manufactured using only Food Grade LDPE which meet the requirement stipulated in STANDARD IS-10146-82, on "Specification for polyethylene for its safe use in contact with food stuffs, pharmaceuticals and drinking water", and also conforms to the positive list of constituents as prescribed in IS-1-141-1982

Are the gel Icepacks reusable?

CHILLIT Gel Icepacks can be refrozen and reused any number of time as long as they are not torn or punctured.

What is the optimal freezer temperature?

The lower the temperature inside your Freezer the shorter the freezing time. However a commercial frost free deep freezer with inside temperature of - 20 Deg. C should be optimal.

How should I use gel Icepacks?



Your product will stay at a constant temperature if you prevent thermal energy from reaching it. That's why we recommend placing frozen gel Icepacks around products to absorb heat entering from any direction.
